Samsung to restrict Note 7's battery capacity at 60 percent
Samsung has declared it is developing a software update for its remembered Galaxy Note 7 smartphone which will restrict the device's battery capacity at 60 percent. The firm anticipates it will discontinue the recent deluge of battery explosions due to overheating.
In the 12 days since Samsung recalled 2.5 million of its Note 7 mobile phones over batteries overheating and bursting, US cellphone providers have suspended their sales of the cellphone and the Federal Aviation Administration began "strongly advising" folks not to take the Note 7 cellphone on planes. So far there have been more than 70 cases of the mobile overheating problems in the US.
The beginning of Samsung's chief Galaxy Note 7 hasn't gone especially readily. After being named cellular telephone of the year by many, the firm has had to recall 2.5 million handsets due to battery explosions. Owners can return their apparatus to get a free replacement but not everyone has participated in the program. To help protect these users, Samsung is developing a software update designed to prevent the affected device from overheating during charging.
Samsung advertised the coming upgrade in a newspaper advertisement in South Korea now. Based on the Associated Press, the ad described the programs fix as "a measure to put consumer safety first." After installed, the Note 7 will be prevented from charging to capacities above 60 percent. While it's going to significantly reduce the smartphone's endurance, it may also lower the risk of the apparatus overheating during charging.
Samsung is advertising a release date of September 20 for its South Korean users. It'sn't at present clear if the upgrade will be rolling out worldwide or whether it will be needed. Note 7 owners may simply drop the patch to continue to fully charge their cellular telephones. Samsung is reported to be in communication with mobile carriers to give the upgrade a more extensive rollout. It must ensure no Note 7 is ever fully billed.
The upgrade is being viewed as a last ditch effort by Samsung to convince Note 7 owners to comprehend the severity of the problem. The recall strategy is now well underway but many owners remain reluctant to return their cellular telephone. Over the weekend, Samsung released an updated statement in which it motivated all Note 7 users to "quickly" participate in the recall. Chances are that some apparatus will not ever be handed back in, yet.
Samsung is rumored to be developing another software fix to handle these mobile problem. It is considered to be creating a patch that can make affected Note 7 handsets disabled, leaving them unusable.
Samsung's increased pressure on owners comes amid official protection warnings from airlines and consumer health groups, directing users to turn their cell phones away as soon as possible. Yesterday, a six-year old boy was injured when a Note 7 explosion in his hands, the latest in a long line of promised overheating instances.
The scale of the recall is stressing Samsung's support network, leaving service centers and retailers fighting to care for the waves of the apparatus being handed in. To apologize to its staff, Samsung is said to have delivered free pizza to carrier shops and handset retailers in South Korea now. It'sn't yet compensated its customers or people injured by their cellular telephone, however.
It is unknown whether restricting the Note's battery capability to 60 percent is enough to ensure it stays exploding. With the issue more centered on heat than charge duration, it's possible a device could still catch fire if being fast charged, wirelessly charged or used significantly. The move is more another effort by Samsung to convince owners to register for a replacement cellular telephone, helping it to get the dangerous apparatus out of use.
Samsung is seemingly going to start sending new cellular telephones in South Korea on September 19th and began an exchange system in the US earlier this month. Replacement mobiles in the US will be indicated with a blue S on the carton.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Release Date and Gossips
The clear name for the following Galaxy Note cellphone would be Galaxy Note 6, given that last year we'd the Galaxy Note 5, the year before the Galaxy Note 4 and the year before that, the Galaxy Note 3. But this year it's likely which will not be the scenario, yet.
Several rumors have signaled Samsung will actually call the next Note the Galaxy Note 7, as an alternative to the Galaxy Note 6, bound a digit. Although not yet supported by Samsung itself, serial leaker Evan Blass has tweeted the Note 7 branding, which given his track record erroneous leaks, makes the name change fairly possible.
The change in name would be to say to be sure the Note smartphone lines up with both other principal Samsung began in March – the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. It's something which makes whole sense so we’ll be referring to another Note as the Note 7 for the advantage of the trait.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 began on 13 August 2015 alongside the Galaxy S6 edge, but the Note wasn't designed for European waters in a bid to drive the S6 edge as the phablet to chew over instead. Reports signal Samsung considers this to be a blunder nonetheless and it’s since been signified the Galaxy Note 7 will bring the Note cellphone back to the UK in favor of the Galaxy S7 edge.
Sources maintain the Galaxy Note 6 will begin in Europe in August 2016, which fits with the business’s preceding release cycle from this past year. Preceding to 2015, the Note smartphone used to establish at the beginning of September at IFA.
On 2 June, observed leakster Evan Blass tweeted: “Galaxy Note 6/7 starting occasion is almost just two months away.” This suggests we can expect Samsung’s next Note model to debut within the first week of August, more than likely 2 August following a recent leak of an alleged screenshot of the Unpacked event invitation.
As for when the Galaxy Note 7 will reach store shelves, Blass has assured it will probably release in the US on the week of 15 August, signaling a number of weeks after its statement.
DESIGN
Rumours have signaled the Note 7’s layout will seem similar to the Galaxy S7 edge with the inclusion of an S Pen. There happen to be reports of both curved and flat variations over the last few months but more recent claims, in the Electronic Times, signal we just going to see a curved model without the degree variation offered. These rumors were further corroborated by The Korea Herald at the decision of June, and the Samsung-seeming teaser for the Unpacked occasion that reads: “Write on the edge of something amazing”.
Based on some designs from @OnLeaks, sourced for USwitch, the Note 6 is said to be around 153.5millimeter x 73.9mm x 7.9mm, putting it around the same size as the Note 5. Furthermore, it's rumored to be coming with IP68 water and dust resistance, something both the S7 and S7 edge offer, and an iris scanner may also seemingly be on board the Note 7.
The claim of an iris scanner is something the layouts from @OnLeaks supported, including a leaked screenshot from Samsung’s Galaxy Beta Software and more recently, Evan Blass on Twitter. Furthermore, a leaked panel shown off by Android Authority seems to show clear windows for the rumored sensor. Added details chance to be tight though so isn’t clear if it’d be infrared like Fujitsu, a light like the Lumia 950, or something more advanced. Or none of the preceding.
The one feature that'll nearly certainly look is the S Pen as we mentioned. It truly is often claimed the S Pen will be called E S-PEN for another variation but isn’t clear what this actually means as yet. We assume it’s going to mean it’s more sophisticated and capable, however. A recent escape from iGyaan guaranteed the new S Pen offer enriched Bluetooth LE, that may allow for longer use and more exact familiarity cautions.
According to Blass, the Note 7 will arrive in black , silver and blue colour picks.
Display
Rumours signify the Note 7 will continue the Super AMOLED trend preceding Note apparatus have offered but increase the display size really slightly from 5.7-inches to 5.8-inches. That said, Evan Blass has maintained the Note 7 will stick to 5.7-inches so the size is still up in the air.
The resolution can be said to be sticking to Quad HD. If the size increase rumour is precise, the Note 7 will have a somewhat lower pixel density of 506ppi compared to 515ppi but this isn’t going to be noticeable to the human eye.
Sammobile furthermore reported a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution, supporting most other rumours, but it also proposed a curved display, which a Weibo user furthermore reported. It'sn’t clear whether there will merely be a curved Note 7 cellphone as some reports have suggested, or if Samsung will offer both arch and level variants.
There's also been a discussion of a Note 6 Lite. This latter apparatus can be said to be coming with a 5.8-inch display additionally but the resolution is reported to drop to Full HD.

The Note 7 can have a 12-megapixel primary camera offering “Super OIS Plus”, and it's going to feature an infrared-based autofocus. Evan Blass, in addition, has indicated 12-megapixels will function as back resolution, and he assures it’ll be Double Pixels, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.
There's also been a discussion of double rear cameras after company sources talked to China’s Zol. Blass is now the only one to detail the front-facing camera sensor, which he swears to be 5-megapixels.
Another report suggested the South Korean company is working on a new technology called Smart Luminescence. This can be guaranteed to be a ring of light encircling the rear camera which will light just as much as express tellings and more to the user when the unit is lying face down, or when a selfie continues to be shot using the back camera.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge both have 12-megapixel rear cameras and a 5-megapixel front camera so if Blass’s information is exact, it appears like the company might use the exact same sensors for the Note 7. This would make sense given the compliments both the S7 and S7 edge have received. Both front and the rear cameras offer an aperture of f/1.7 to help them glow in low light conditions so we'd like to discover the same skills in the Note 7 at the very least.
Samsung is, in addition, declared to be taking care of a fresh 1/2.3-inch sensor that will be accompanied by a lens with an aperture of f/1.4, which is said to offer 17 per cent lighter, plus the added light the bigger sensor will bring. It'sn’t clear if this new camera will be ready for the Note 7 yet, but fingers crossed.
HARDWARE
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has an octa-centre Exynos chipset, 4GB or RAM and 32GB of 64GB of internal memory. The aluminium body means microSD support was removed as was a removable battery, the capacity of which dropped to 3000mAh from the 3200mAh of its forerunner.
The Galaxy Note 7 is said to be coming with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon or Exynos chipset, established by the place, jointly with 6GB of RAM, in accordance with Weibo. Just exactly the same web site has suggested it’ll be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chip, that'll work at supporting up to 8GB of RAM.
Samsung’s S7 and S7 edge both come in two variations, among which offers the Qualcomm SD820 processor and the other of which uses the inhouse Exynos Octa 8 central processing unit so the notion of two kinds depending on region is potential, although whether it the support will be 6GB or 8GB of RAM is unclear. Interestingly, Samsung unveiled a new 10nm LPDDR4 6GB RAM chip in China in May 2016, so perhaps it’ll adopt that for the Note 7.
Storage options are touted as 64GB and 128GB in one Weibo report, while another claimed 256GB of storage would be on board. Blass tweeted the Note 7 would be offered with 64GB of RAM and microSD support but whether that will function as the only variant is unclear.
If the Note 7 arrives in a curved and level variation, chances are they’ll both offer the very same specs, like the S7 and S7 edge does. The Note 6 Lite, on the other hand, is reported to be coming with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM.
BATTERY
In accordance with SamMobile, the successor to the Galaxy Note 5 will feature a USB Type-C interface, something which the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge missed off their spec sheets and a thing that may be seen in the @OnLeaks leaves. Samsung is expected to adopt the reversible connector for the Note 7 though, but it truly is unknown when it is going to support USB 3.1 or an older standard. If the Note 7 were to support USB 3.1, the connector would furnish USB Electricity Delivery 2.0 for faster apparatus charging as well as the ability to deliver HDMI and Display Interface video signals.
Battery capacity was rumoured to be around 4000mAh, jointly with 4200mAh and 3600mAh, but isn’t clear whether the Note 7 will return to offering a removable battery like preceding Note apparatus before the Note 5. We suppose not.
The Note 6 Lite may also be rumoured to be coming with a 4000mAh battery capacity, which if true means it might just take a hit on the display resolution and central processing unit in comparison to the primary apparatus.
